O Barco de Veldoras to A Rua - 8.9 miles

The day can officially be classed as a 'lazy day', aka less than 10 miles, so I indulged and stayed in bed for an extra half an hour, what a luxury. The first 2 hours of my day consisted of walking between the main road and the train tracks, not very exciting, but at least the views were lovely. Once I got to the river level, however, the noise level disappeared and the scenery opened up. Vineyards, bee boxes, snow-covered mountains and gorgeous green valleys as far as the eye could see. As I was in no rush to get to my destination I found a lovely spot and had an hour's break after only 6 miles, easy life. I still managed to arrive at my destination at 1 pm which left me half a day of sightseeing and reading by the lake. My accommodation was just WOW; amazing grounds, great history, huge room, massive bathroom and a very chatty and extremely entertaining host. Considering she didn't speak English and my Spanish was less than rudimentary, we (she) spent chatting for 2 hours. I've learned more Spanish today than in the last 3 months - LOVED it.

Traveling is my happy place—there's nothing quite like the thrill of being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but my backpack, the open trail, and my own thoughts. Give me 12 hours of hiking, a lot of water, a little food, and a whole lot of unknown, and I’m completely in my element. I’m proud to say I don’t exactly fit the mold—maybe I’m a little wild, definitely adventurous, possibly a bit of a lunatic, and 100% alive. I believe life is meant to be lived, not watched from the sidelines. So here I am, chasing joy, chasing trails, and occasionally chasing my own sanity.
Come along for the ride! Dive into my stories and see the world the way I do—one unforgettable adventure at a time.
