Stonethwaite to Grisedale tarn - 13 miles

It was definitely a quieter night but for some reason I couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep. To make use of this sleepless night I simply broke camp and set off ridiculously early so I could enjoy the silence and views privately . About an hour later I noticed a walker with a dog wearing an orange top few miles ahead. I found out later that the orange top was actually a mini dog backpack so the dog could carry his own food ahhh, cutie. The first section took just over an hour and after a well earned breakfast I tackled the 2nd section with a spring in my step. Blimey that was steep and with a heavy backpack it was another great cardio session .

On the way down I started chatting with Chris and Brachen (dog with orange top and his owner) and we talked like two old ladies all the way to Grasmere. After some mini shopping and a massive Fish and Chips we set off 2 hours behind schedule but with a full and happy tummy. Saying that it made the next climb a bit more challenging and it took us close to two hours to get to the top; and 2 seconds to decide to call it a day by the tarn. There were a number of people already camping but we didn't care and after selecting a spot, that didn't threaten to blow us off the top, we setup quickly . I was planning to go for a swim but it proved to be too windy and I really didn't want to catch a cold so decided to chill instead.

After some hot chocolate and gossip session we called it a night really early; climbing two 500+ meter passes was satisfying but also a bit draining, I must admit. Another lovely day with great company

Traveling is my happy place—there's nothing quite like the thrill of being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but my backpack, the open trail, and my own thoughts. Give me 12 hours of hiking, a lot of water, a little food, and a whole lot of unknown, and I’m completely in my element. I’m proud to say I don’t exactly fit the mold—maybe I’m a little wild, definitely adventurous, possibly a bit of a lunatic, and 100% alive. I believe life is meant to be lived, not watched from the sidelines. So here I am, chasing joy, chasing trails, and occasionally chasing my own sanity.
Come along for the ride! Dive into my stories and see the world the way I do—one unforgettable adventure at a time.
