Camasunary bay to Loch Chriosd - 14 miles

It felt like the sun never set, at 4 am it was already light and I actually heard a couple of runners going past. We started breaking camp seriously early so we could get a good start to the day. Getting out of Camasuary Bay was a bit long, but the views were breathtaking, and my camera had a good dose of quality pictures. After a long stretch of downhill trekking, we arrived at the car park which signalled the start of the road walking for quite a bit.

The ever-changing weather made the journey interesting and a bit of a drag but once we crossed the bridge, near Torrin, the views really made up for it. When we noticed a coffee van our hopes for something warm soared .... finding it closed was absolutely devastating .... however Andrea, a lady from Devon on a 2 month long journey in her campervan, noticed our dismay and offered her sofa and a cup of tea. Human kindness doesn't have to be big but it can mean the world to some. It meant a huge amount to two soaking wet/tired/freezing hikers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Even before we entered the village of Torrin our aim was to find a cosy campsite and pass out within seconds. It took us close to 1.5 hours to find the perfect spot but it was as idyllic as it could get and the lack of midges, due to the gentle drizzle, was a pure blessing. Falling asleep to the sound of the stream and a very happy chirping bird was a bit surreal but also beyond relaxing.

Traveling is my happy place—there's nothing quite like the thrill of being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but my backpack, the open trail, and my own thoughts. Give me 12 hours of hiking, a lot of water, a little food, and a whole lot of unknown, and I’m completely in my element. I’m proud to say I don’t exactly fit the mold—maybe I’m a little wild, definitely adventurous, possibly a bit of a lunatic, and 100% alive. I believe life is meant to be lived, not watched from the sidelines. So here I am, chasing joy, chasing trails, and occasionally chasing my own sanity.
Come along for the ride! Dive into my stories and see the world the way I do—one unforgettable adventure at a time.
