Chantada to Rodeiro - 17.5 miles

I set off just after 7 so I could enjoy a nice sunrise and avoid the rain at 4 pm. The first was stunning and the second never happened. There were several routes to choose from today: walk next to the main road, walk on the back roads or climb the mountain to skip both ... guess once which one I chose. It was a cooler (22C) and cloudy day, visibility wasn't the best, saying that it was still lovely to climb the highest point of this Camino and stare at the massive windmills sprinkled all over. I had several nice experiences today: a baker gave me bread for free, a shopkeeper gave me an apple as a present and the hotel owner kindly gave me her ibuprofen stash. When I arrived I was literally close to tears by 6 pm I was so hungry; I didn't think I would survive until dinner time (9 pm). The hotel owner, God bless her sole, re-heated some food and presented a 3-course meal just for me. Such kindness. I will forever be in her debt. What a place, what lovely and welcoming people, what a great memory. At this point both of my feet were inflamed, I could barely stand and weirdly I was still loving it. Less than 50 miles to go - Yeay

Traveling is my happy place—there's nothing quite like the thrill of being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but my backpack, the open trail, and my own thoughts. Give me 12 hours of hiking, a lot of water, a little food, and a whole lot of unknown, and I’m completely in my element. I’m proud to say I don’t exactly fit the mold—maybe I’m a little wild, definitely adventurous, possibly a bit of a lunatic, and 100% alive. I believe life is meant to be lived, not watched from the sidelines. So here I am, chasing joy, chasing trails, and occasionally chasing my own sanity.
Come along for the ride! Dive into my stories and see the world the way I do—one unforgettable adventure at a time.
