Taking a full day to actually enjoy Santiago de Compostella was something I'll never regret. Meeting Jose in the market was a sign that called for wine and tapas :) It may have been well before 12 noon but it didn't matter, it was time to celebrate and enjoy the moment. Walking around the ancient city was well worth the extra day, what a stunning place.

Traveling is my happy place—there's nothing quite like the thrill of being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but my backpack, the open trail, and my own thoughts. Give me 12 hours of hiking, a lot of water, a little food, and a whole lot of unknown, and I’m completely in my element.
